GENERAL FUNCTION:

Provide swim lessons/private or group for children 6 months of age up to adults of all levels and abilities based on American Red Cross (ARC) Standards and program requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent BCC Sports & Aquatics Complex by maintaining a professional appearance.
• Responsible for instructing swim lessons of participants
• Maintain the safety of the participants in and around the class
• Work with other instructors in co-teaching certain classes if necessary
• Evaluates students participating in swim lessons
• Submits completed reports cards, skill sheets and attendance information on time
• Attends mandatory meetings and training session as scheduled
• Communicates effectively with the lifeguard on duty and act as a team in an emergency
• Delivers excellent customer service to all that utilize the facility
• Participates in all swim programs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

(Current Certification in the following is preferred)

• Experience teaching swim lessons
• Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate skills in swim lessons instruction
• Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm

ADDITIONAL/PREFERRED SKILLS

(While conducting private swim lessons, duties and responsibilities are as follows.)

• Must has open and direct communication with clients regularly on their lesson scheduling and retail of their lesson plan
• Instructors are required to track participants lessons through BCC Sports & Aquatics Complex’s Point of Sales (POS) system, MINDBODY©
• All lessons will be required to be scheduled in MINDBODY©
• Instructors will only be paid for the lessons that are scheduled in MINDBODY©
