Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a computer related field or two years’ experience using Microsoft 365 in a power user role and Microsoft 365 certifications.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Critical thinking and problem determination skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field
- One year system administration experience.
- One year network administration experience
- Experience with Ellucian Colleague and related products.
- Experience with hardware maintenance and repair
Position Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The Technology Specialist – Systems Support reports directly to the Director of Information Technology Services. The Technology Specialist – Systems Support will play a critical role by providing Tier 1 support for critical systems and serving as a backup for cybersecurity.
DUTIES:
- Provide Tier 1 support for the college’s voice over IP (VoIP) system (including initial user setup) and the college’s wireless (wifi) network.
- Provide Tier 1 system administrator support for the college’s ERP environment-related applications.
- Serve as a backup for cybersecurity monitoring and incident response.
- Perform routine maintenance on ERP-related Windows servers.
- Assist with the creation of security classes and user authorization forms.
- Perform various administrative tasks, such as tracking warranty and maintenance agreements, entering requisitions, weekly patch documentation, maintaining budget information and assisting with updating the departmental operating manual.
- Assist with the maintenance of instructional labs and instructional technology equipment.
- Provide assistance to faculty and staff with the procurement of computer hardware and software.
- Assist with the computer equipment, instructional technology equipment, and the software inventories for the college.
- Assist with the coordination of planning, acquiring and installing the college’s instructional technology equipment.
- Participate in departmental planning and evaluation.
