Minimum Qualifications

1. Minimum two-year degree in Information Systems or Technology Services.

2. Knowledge of instructional technology (audio, video, computer) equipment and ability to operate and maintain such equipment.

3. Should be creative, adaptable and have ability to work well under pressure.

4. Ability to relate to faculty, staff, students, and community members in a congenial and professional manner.

5. Technical knowledge of lighting and sound for audio and video equipment setups.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Preferred four-year degree in Information Technology.
2. Experience in all areas of Technology Support including audio/visual support.

Position Description

The Technology Support Technician is responsible to the Network Administrator and works in close cooperation with faculty and staff to provide planning, coordination, maintenance, and training connected to the college’s computer services. This position will answer Help Desk calls for computer support as well as audio/video setups.

In partnership with Technology Services Division personnel and management, will provide feedback with respect to:

  1. Planning, implementation, and evaluation of college-wide information systems and technologies.
  2. Planning and development of college-wide information systems standards, and usage guidelines.
  3. Provide audio/video support along with computer support in accordance with the needs of the College.
  4. Monitor, identify, and recommend emerging technologies and innovative methodologies to utilize multimedia and information technologies to achieve College objectives and goals.
  5. Integrate media system design, training, implementation, and instructional capabilities for production, presentation, and delivery of media and multimedia programming.
  6. Provide orientation and training in use of audio/video equipment to faculty and staff as necessary.
  7. Implement College policy as it applies to Technology Services.
  8. Responsible for audiovisual equipment maintenance.
  9. Covert and maintain the archiving of the College’s media resources.
  10. Crosstrain in other areas of technology (e.g PC Maintenance and Networking Services) as needed by the College and Technology Services.
  11. Provide recommendations to the Director of Technology Services for the purchasing of audiovisual equipment and supplies and materials.
  12. Advise in planning for audiovisual needs of new facilities or for the renovation of existing facilities.
  13. Maintain inventory control of equipment and supplies regarding audiovisual equipment.
  14. Evaluate audiovisual equipment and recommend surplus of damaged or obsolete equipment.
  15. Serve on College committees as assigned.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology Services and Network Administrator.
