Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications that Make You Shine:

· Proficiency in Windows OS, from installation to problem resolution

· Expertise in PC hardware support, including diagnostics and configuration

· Skilled in printer troubleshooting

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights up to 10 feet

· Possession of a valid driver’s license is a must

Preferred Qualifications

· 2+ years of computer support or related experience or an associate’s degree in a computer-related field

· IT support technician certifications

· Proficiency in MS Office suite

· Familiarity with Apple iOS, including installation and diagnosis

· Knowledge of Server Support

· Previous experience with A/V equipment support

· Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM

· Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP

· Knowledge of computer networks

· Customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to service

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

· Integrity, leadership, and self-starting capabilities

· Proven problem-solving skills

Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Technology Support 1 for a full-time role that offers an exciting opportunity to support technology users across diverse SPCC locations. This role is primarily based in Union County, with occasional travel to provide desktop support in Anson County. Reporting to the Executive Director of Information Technology Services/Chief Information Officer, the Technology Support 1 will play a vital role in assisting computer users in office settings, academic labs, learning resource centers, and libraries.

Job Duties

Expectations for Your Role:

As a Technology Support 1, you will be responsible for three core areas: maintaining computer systems, supporting end users, and managing technology resources. Working under the guidance of the Executive director Information Technology Services/Chief Information Officer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Computer Troubleshooting:

  • Installation and maintenance of systems
  • Diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and software malfunctions
  • Performing preventative maintenance on computers
  • Connecting college-owned computers to the network
  • Troubleshooting network access and domain-related issues
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining audio/visual systems

2. Empowering End Users:

  • Assisting users with hardware and software inquiries
  • Providing ITS support for on and off-campus events
  • Offering clear instructions on hardware and software changes

3. Resource Management:

  • Keeping an organized inventory of technology resources
  • Maintaining work areas, tools, and software
  • Logging computer installations, upgrades, and repairs via tickets

In addition, the Technology Support 1 will collaborate as assigned with the other departments and teams on various projects and assignments.
