Minimum Qualifications

An Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Systems or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Must have at least one year of experience with computer systems hardware, software, and networking, preferably in an academic setting at the college level. At least one year of audio-visual support and event management experience is required. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with staff, students, and the public are required. Possess at least one year of experience in supporting an Information Technology (IT) helpdesk environment. Intermediate knowledge and experience in Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Candidates should have the technical knowledge to help solve complex problems. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends to accommodate community events and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

 A National Career Readiness Certificate and Bilingual in English and Spanish are preferred.

Position Description

The Technology Support Technician is a forward-facing position as part of IT. Duties will include regular customer communication and participating in departmental documentation efforts. The Technician will be responsible for installing new computers, loading appropriate software, and setting up network printers, and AV equipment for campus use; will resolve incoming requests for service and support from the service desk for a designated area of responsibility. The Technician will use technical expertise and understanding of business needs to evaluate and resolve IT incidents and problem service desk tickets. The Technician will also be responsible for communication with customers on the status of open requests and will work closely with other areas of Information Technology.
