Minimum qualifications:

  •  Master's in higher education or related field
  • Three years progressively responsible experience related to area of assignment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing/implementing professional development and/or high-impact strategies
  • Experience of successfully managing (achieving grant deliverables) or having responsibility over grants which can include: applying for grants, monitoring compliance and reporting activities, monitoring budgets in accordance with applicable fiscal restraints, and maintaining grant records
  • Experience with student information systems and Starfish platforms
  • Experience working with underserved student populations

Position Description

SUMMARY:

Davidson County Community College (DCCC) is seeking a full-time Project Director to lead a five-year Title III grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. The project entitled "Project DIAL Success (Differentiated Instruction and Intervention for Academic and Life Success)" aims to improve student outcomes through a focus on faculty learning, technology and classroom enhancements, and completion coaching. The award of $2.25 million runs from October 1, 2019 through Sept. 30, 2024. This position is fully supported through the Title III project at 100% and is a 12-month position subject to continued federal funding annually.
 
The Title III Project Director is responsible for overall project management, including personnel and budget management, evaluation, and compliance.  Working collaboratively with the Title III Steering Committee, the Project Director will facilitate the planning and implementation of all grant-supported activities. The Project Director reports directly to the President.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall project leadership and supervision; ensure accomplishment of Project Objectives
  • Manage budget; maintain budget control; approve expenditures; ensure appropriate use of federal funds
  • Facilitate hiring and onboarding processes for project staff
  • Work with Director, Center for Teaching and Learning to coordinate faculty/staff development
  • Work with Completion Coaches to establish processes for implementing proactive student interventions by utilizing predictive analytics and disaggregated data
  • Lead implementation of effective project evaluation
  • Oversee preparation of project fiscal and technical reports for the U.S. Department of Education and DCCC
  • Maintain effective communication to ensure project congruence with institutional goals
  • Develop and implement communication plan to inform the campus community of the Title III Strengthening Institutions Project.
  • Remain current regarding Title III and U.S. Department of Education policies, grant terms, and conditions; ensure project compliance throughout grant period
  • Participate in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position, including national Title III meetings/conferences and Department of Education sponsored trainings.
  • Maintain high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings
  • Represent the college, serves as the primary point of contact for the Title III project and performs other duties appropriate to the position
