Position Description
The Transitional and Career Studies Coordinator is responsible for providing quality educational support for instructors and students enrolled in General Educational Development, Adult Basic Education, Adult Basic Literacy and Literacy Programs. The Transitional and Career Studies Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Transitional & Career Studies. This position works to develop and deliver classes for individuals with basic skill needs.
The duties of the Transitional and Career Studies Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate class scheduling for General Educational Development, Adult Basic Education, Adult Basic Literacy and Literacy programs
- Coordinate Transitional and Career Studies course development and performs course origination document entries
- Coordinate, develop, and implement system training and training materials for Transitional and Career Studies program coordinators, faculty, lab facilitators, divisional office assistants and administrators
- Coordinate planning and development of Transitional and Career Studies grading process
- Resolve course-related issues for Adult High School and General Educational Development graduation
- Supervise and evaluate the operation of courses each semester and faculty in accordance with policy
- Prepare and submit instructional records, reports, grades and other paperwork in a timely manner meeting all deadlines with accuracy and detail
- Fulfill all contracted duties and individual professional obligations to meet the needs of the department, division, and College
- Possess knowledge of policies and practices of state and federal regulations for course and program audits
- Possess knowledge and proficiency with computer and office equipment
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions

- Frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, mouse and telephone
- Infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, between campuses and to off-campus sites
