A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration or related field is required for this position.
Experience in a secretarial or clerical support role is preferred.
Under the direction of the Director of TRIO programs, performs administrative and clerical support functions.
Maintains hard copy and electronic student records and data systems. Types letters, memorandums, grants, manuals, master lists, and other correspondence. Orders materials, places work orders, processes invoices, maintains inventory of materials and supplies for the office. Files expense reports and travel forms for staff. Coordinates travel plans. Answers telephone and greets visitors. Handles requests for information. Routes persons to appropriate office or person. Serves as backup for other administrative support functions in the division. Serves on institutional committees as appointed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of principles and practices of PC’s, Internet, and e-mail. Knowledge of office practices, procedures and methods. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to operate office machines at the speed and level of accuracy as required for the position. Ability to execute general office, interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills. Ability to provide support to other members of the staff enabling them to meet their work requirements and work as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records.
