Position Description

Provide exemplary customer service to students, faculty, College Transfer Advisors,  and the general public.
 

Support the Coordinator of University Outreach with presentations at local high schools to recruit students and attend school functions to disseminate program information.
 

Assist the Coordinator of University Outreach with recruiting and identifying students who are eligible for admission into the C-STEP program; connect student with University Outreach events, college transfer, and faculty advisors to assist with academic planning to align their program of study to  articulation opportunities with four year colleges and universities.

Assist with maintaining database of student participants.
 

Attend monthly trips with cohort groups to help manage travel logistics and facilitate transition to four-year colleges and universities.
 

Work closely with the Coordinator of University Outreach to assess student academic and non-academic needs and connect them to resources and services available at FTCC.
 

Assist with communicating information concerning college transfer opportunities with college applicants throughout the admissions process to help facilitate academic planning to assist students’ interest in transferring to 4-year institutions.
 

Perform day-to-day administrative functions to support program goals.

 

Participate in researching complex problems and discrepancies in records, transcripts, and course schedules.

 

Provide information to students both in person, by telephone, social media and other communication tools including the College’s early alert system, Civitas.

 

Type, proofread, and process a variety of documents including general correspondence, memos, and statistical charts from supervisor’s draft or verbal instruction

 

Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence.

 

Explain College policies and procedures relating to student expectations to existing and prospective students.

 

Establish and maintain computerized spreadsheets and data files; run reports on a regular and requested basis.

 

Maintain and coordinate calendars and schedules of departmental activities, courses, meetings and events; coordinate and schedule activities with other College departments, the public and outside agencies.

 

Prepare brochures, flyers and handouts for review, approval and distribution by the Executive Director for Marketing and Public Relations.

 

Review and evaluate completeness of files and records; request information as needed.

 

Respond to difficult requests for information and act as liaison to other College departments and divisions.

 

Assist in preparing and maintaining special reports and budget information for external groups, agencies, and organizations.

 

Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare travel requests for department staff.

 

Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer for word processing; input and retrieve data and text; organize and maintain disc storage and filing as necessary.

 

Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

College policies, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to records maintenance. 
 

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Access, OneNote, and Teams)

Modern office procedures, methods, practices, and computer equipment.
 

Business letter writing and basic report preparation.
 

Record keeping principles and procedures.
 

English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
