A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related area.
Applicant must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (donors, students, administration, and the public). Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential. Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word), budget, and database management. Demonstrate a patient and caring personality to build relationships with donors. Some weekends, evenings, and occasional overnight travel are part of the work schedule for this position.
Fundraising experience is a plus.
This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Institutional Advancement Office and WCC Foundation, reporting to VP of Institutional Advancement/Executive Director WCC Foundation. The Community Resource Development Specialist will be responsible for scholarship management.
Core duties will include the following:
o Manages Blackbaud Award Management System (BAM) for endowed and general scholarship donor recognition and reporting
o Develops accurate and functional scholarship agreements when establishing endowed scholarships with donors
o Works with donors regarding scholarship goals and student successes
o Works with Public Information Officer and Education Promise Coordinator on developing press releases for donor recognition of scholarships
o Serves on college scholarship selection/advisory committee
o Works closely with Foundation special events Chair and committee to plan the Scholarship Gala
o Manages logistics for the Scholarship Gala through Raiser’s Edge NXT database with guest lists, seating charts, online giving
o Works closely with WCC Hospitality Director to coordinate setup and use of Walker Center
o Provides marketing and graphic designer theme for all promotional materials
o Secures sponsorships for event
o Conducts all correspondence with board members to sell tickets and other key participants in the event
o Works with Administrative Assistant on invoicing and thank you notes
o Creates post-event survey to present to Foundation special events committee
Education Promise WAW Scholarship Golf Tournament
o Manages logistics for annual golf tournament
o Secures Jefferson Landing for golf contract
o Works with Jefferson Landing for golf logistics
o Works with WAW advisory committee on securing sponsors, hole sponsors and players
o Maintains webpage information and registration forms
o Works with Administrative Assistant for invoicing, player communications, receipts and thank you / recognition
o Coordinate marketing/graphic needs through marketing department
Education Promise Scholarship
o Assists VP in establishing and executing campaign funding plan
o Manages fundraising database and portfolios
o Cultivates and maintains relations with donors
o Works with Administrative Assistant on donor recognition
o Establishes and executes funding plans for
Step Up Leadership Scholarship working with Henry Moore Scholarship Golf Classic coordinator
Keys to Success – Presidential Scholarship & WCC SAGE (Support Academic Goals in Education) Fellows program
o Serves on MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Contest team
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the VP of Institutional Advancement.
