Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Web Programming, Computer Information Technology or related field from a regionally accredited college, or university. Documented experience with web design, web management and responsive design.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Web Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
2. Documented experience using PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL, MySQL, and javascript (particularly jQuery).
3. Documented experience using administrative and development tools (e.g. SSH, SFTP, GitHub, etc.).
4. Documented experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
5. Documented training related to ADA compliance as it relates to web design.
6. Documented experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or similar product.
7. Documented experience with a variety of operating systems (Windows, iOS, linux, etc.).
Position Description
Full-time 12 month staff position reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. This position is responsible for daily maintenance of the College web page, content management system, web upgrades, and digital products used for marketing and advertising. This position designs and modifies web designs and interfaces and works to ensure currency of web content. Works closely with Vice President of Institutional Advancement, various campus units, as well as Marketing Coordinator and Public Information Officer to digitally market services the College provides.
The following are the essential duties and responsibilities of the position:
1. Develop and manage the College website and content manage system, including maintaining ongoing relevance of, and providing updates to, the College website.
2. Design and develop new web pages in collaboration with members of campus community. Development includes, but is not limited to, keeping up to date with the latest technologies and recommending the use of those technologies, if appropriate.
3. Provide expertise and training to members of campus community on the design, development, and maintenance of departmental web pages.
4. Create images/graphic design.
5. Consult with members of campus community to assure currency, integrity, and relevance of published information.
6. Maintain current versions of documents, forms, and handbooks on the college website. Manage versioning of the same.
7. Monitor web usage and prepare reports as needed.
8. Incorporate photography, video, and dynamic content into the College web page as needed.
9. Create and update forms as necessary for the website and/or for print distribution.
10. Develop and maintain digital signage and other digital products to market and advertise the services provided by the College.
11. Coordinate work with the Public Relations coordinator to promote activities and events as needed.
12. Actively work to ensure compliance of web page content with W3C standards and Section 508 (ADA) accessibility requirements.
13. Assist with special projects (e.g. SACSCOC Focused Report) as needed.
14. Ability and willingness to provide superior customer service.
15. Serve on various campus committees.
16. Other duties as assigned.
