- Diploma in Welding Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
- Work experience in the welding industry.
- Flexible working hours, typically evening and may include Saturday work.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Experience with classroom technology, Microsoft Word, and learning management systems.
- Ability to work with diverse faculty/student population and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NC3/Lincoln credentials and certification in welding.
- Post-secondary teaching and outcome assessment experience in a related field.
- Two or more years of welding experience.
- Current industry-recognized certifications.
Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under limited supervision, performs administrative, record keeping, educational, and technical work related to student instruction in a classroom setting. Work involves preparing and delivering quality instructional activities related to student success; preparing, administering, and grading assessment activities; maintaining records related to students and course delivery; preparing and submitting necessary documentation for accreditation; demonstrating professionalism & modeling employability skills; and maintaining competency in their instructional field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to college rules/policies/procedures.
- Teaches assigned Welding courses in traditional, hybrid, and blended settings. Prepares lesson plans, updates curriculum, course syllabi, handouts, tests, etc. Responsible for gathering resources for classes, preparing practical/lab exercises, grading assignments, and completing reports/forms related to classes and programs
- Maintains open and professional communication with BCC (faculty, staff, supervisors, administration, etc.), students, community members, and representatives from business entities.
- Supports the student access, success and completion agenda.
- Fosters a collegial relationship among colleagues and partners.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
