Minimum Qualifications

Diploma in Welding Technology (or equivalent) with AWS Welding Certification, Certified Welding inspector, or Certified Associate Welding Inspector. Must have experience in ARC Welding (SMAW, GMAW and GTAW) and Oxyacetylene Welding (OAW). Must be able to perform welds on various metals including stainless steel, carbon, aluminum, pipe and plate. Communication, both oral and written, and computer skills necessary. Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in welding. Teaching experience at a community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience.

Position Description

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time position to teach coursework in the Welding program. Qualified candidates will be able to develop curriculum and provide training and student support resulting in graduates who meet entry-level employment criteria for positions in the welding field.

Duties

Provide quality instruction for face-to-face and online classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.
Incorporate latest instructional technologies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery.
Provide quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.
Recruit students for the FTCC programs.
Advise students in the program.
Monitor and improve student retention.
Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision and development.
Provide input on assessment and other departmental activities.
Periodically evaluate and develop new courses. Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the college.
Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments conducive to student learning, engagement and retention.
Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.
Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.
Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
