Minimum Qualifications
Diploma in Welding Technology (or equivalent) with AWS Welding Certification, Certified Welding inspector, or Certified Associate Welding Inspector. Must have experience in ARC Welding (SMAW, GMAW and GTAW) and Oxyacetylene Welding (OAW). Must be able to perform welds on various metals including stainless steel, carbon, aluminum, pipe, and plate. Communication, both oral and written, and computer skills are essential. Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in welding
NCCER certified instructor (ICTP)
Teaching experience at a community college or four-year college.

Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time exempt position to teach coursework in the Welding program through the Corporate and Industry Training Division. Qualified candidates will be able to develop curriculum and provide training and support to students resulting in graduates who meet entry-level employment criteria for positions in welding. Applicants will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties
Provide quality instruction for face-to-face and online classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.
Incorporate latest instructional technologies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery.
Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Recruit students for the FTCC programs.
Advise students in the program.
Monitor and improve student retention.
Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision, and development.
Provide input on assessment and other departmental activities.
Periodically evaluate and develop new courses.
Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the college.
Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments which foster student centered learning, engagement, and retention.
Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.
Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.
Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
