  • 7 years’ experience in the welding industry.
  • Experience in training others in a workforce or classroom/lab setting.
  • Willing to teach day or evening classes.
  • Willing to earn NCCER certification within two months of employment.
  • Basic computer skills or a willingness to learn.

-  Third party industry credentials.

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The PT Welding Instructor will prepare students for a successful career in the welding industry through instruction on: welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, base metal preparation, weld quality, SMAW welding, GMAW welding, understanding welding detail drawings and other areas as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: classroom instruction, delivery of project-based learning activities, assessment, examination and grading.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and updates material/outlines.
  • Provides traditional lecture and project-based learning activities.
  • Prepares course objectives following industry standards and applicable requirements.
  • Plans and documents a program of study that meets the needs and abilities of students.
  • Provides instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual, and project-based learning.
  • Requires accurate attendance and timely end of course paperwork.

  • 7 years’ experience in the welding industry.
