REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Skills
Required: A diploma or certificate from a regionally accredited institution in Welding or a qualifying field and 5 years of industry-related welding experience. Good communication skills.
Preferred: Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Welding. AWS certification. Bilingual.
Experience
Preferred: Some community college teaching experience.

Position Description
Salary is Commensurate on experience and education
The Welding Instructor plans, develops, delivers and evaluates assigned day or evening courses, evaluates student performance, and serves as an academic advisor to students. The Welding Instructor is also responsible for maintaining student records and submitting reports in a timely manner. The position reports to the Dean of Business and Industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Meets and holds day or evening classes as scheduled.
- Provides assistance to students.
- Refers students to other college staff when necessary.
- Prepares, implements, and evaluates competency-based course outlines based upon program objectives.
- Keeps current on subject matter and teaching methodologies.
- Maintains student records and monitors student progress.
- Completes and submits course-related reports in a timely manner.
- Provides input and participates in the College's Planning Process;
- Participates/assists with coordination of specific program/course management.
- Serves as a liaison between the College and business/industry as it relates to the Welding Technology program.
- Continuously analyzes and evaluates instructional results to improve instruction and evaluation of student progress.
- Provides students and the College with written course expectations as including general course information, course objectives, methods used in evaluation of students, grading policy, and attendance policy.
- Provides supervisor with copy of all current course syllabi with student learning outcomes keyed to program competencies.
- Assists with keying program competencies to institutional competencies.
- Orders and maintains program equipment.
- Assists with student recruitment and advertising efforts.
- Orders program supplies.
- Promotes a positive image of the College.
- Engages in professional development activities.
- Serves on college committees.
- Coordinates advisory committee for the Welding Technology program.
- Acquires computer/technology competencies as appropriate to position.
- Assists with equipment inventory and software renewals.
- Maintain security of personal computer access.
- Perform other professional or job-related duties as assigned.
