- Welding Diploma from an accredited institution
- 3 + years’ experience in Welding
- Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with administration, co-workers, and students
- Flexibility of working hours

- Welding certifications (i.e., AWS/ASME, CWI, etc)
- AAS in Welding Technology or similar field
- Community College teaching experience
Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under limited supervision of Dean, Professional & Technical Programs, performs administrative, record keeping, educational, and technical work related to instructing students in a classroom setting. Work involves preparing and delivering lectures, setting up demonstrations and practical exercises, maintaining related paperwork, records, and student attendance as required by BCC/CCS/SACSCOC, administering and grading tests, advising and mentoring students and related functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides collaborative leadership, guidance, and direction for the assigned program
- Fosters a collegial relationship among colleagues and partners
- Assists with leadership for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of study while ensuring accreditation and compliance mandates are met
- Advises and mentors students
- Supports the student access, success, and completion agenda
- Evaluates and updates program and course student learning outcomes, and course syllabi.
- Instructs in the Welding Technology program with an assigned course load which will include lecture, lab, testing, assessments, maintaining attendance records, syllabi, program updates, lesson plans, and more. Excellent oral communication skills, therefore, are necessary
- Collaborates with Continuing Education to identify initiatives that support the success of assigned programs
- Participates in various committee assignments
- Performs other tasks as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Welding Diploma from an accredited institution
- 3 + years’ experience in Welding
