Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in human services, business administration, or related field required, with one to two years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with computers and case management is preferred.
Position Description
The WIOA Youth Program Specialist is the direct link for the provision of the WIOA programs and services, assessment, and retention to the client community as well as develops individualized strategy plan for each participant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Completes intake eligibility for WIOA program
Completes an individualized services strategy plan for each eligible participant and updates periodically.
Scan all WIOA documents into NCWorks Management System.
Completes participant data forms for enrollment or exit from program
Implements a case management approach with enrollees to include assigning participants to component activities/supportive services, and assures that participants receive resources.
Assist in job development for WIOA clients and prepares OJT /Work experience subcontracts or worksite agreements with employers.
Reviews all paperwork relating to program to ensure WIOA guidelines are met and appropriate policies are followed and documented for distribution of incentive items.
Keys case notes to reflect the enrollment, progress, achievements and follow-ups of WIOA participants.
Plan and facilitate monthly youth activities and workshops. Home visits, community recruitment of out-of-school youth.
Accompany enrolled youth participants to WIOA sponsored events, provide transportation via college vehicles, and supervise youth throughout the events.
Serve on college committees and participant in college sponsored activities as assigned.
