Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree and playing/coaching experience at the post-secondary, collegiate or professional coaching experience. A valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifying degree for potential full-time employment as an instructor or staff personnel, supplemented by two or more years of post-secondary, collegiate or professional coaching experience.

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position. The Women’s Basketball Coach is a part-time staff position reporting to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Fayetteville Technical Community.

Duties

The Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, operating, and evaluating the Women’s Basketball program at the College. Reporting to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, this position is expected to adhere to the responsibilities of competitive success, the academic success of students, fiscal responsibility, and rules compliance within the parameters set forth by the NJCAA.

Advise student-athletes and staff of applicable intercollegiate athletic rules, regulations, and College policies to ensure compliance of such regulations.

Recruit, advise, and sign student-athletes for team participation.

Inform student-athletes of academic and other matters pertaining to their enrollment and educational progress.

Plan and direct athletic skill development for student-athletes.

Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.

Work with Regional Athletic Directors and coaches on the selection and scheduling of team contests.

Work within budgetary guidelines established by the College.

Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.

Attend all team practices and home and away contests.

In coordination with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, monitor student-athlete academic performance and implement team, athletic department, and College measures to support their academic performance.

Assume responsibility to student-athlete compliance with all NJCAA rules and regulations. Assists in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates an applicable regulation.

Work with alumni student groups, College administration, and community groups to seek support for the team.

Responsible for additional tasks as assigned to further advance the college and student success.
