A minimum of a two-year post-secondary degree in a vocational or education program or the equivalent experience in an industry, manufacturing, healthcare, business or educational field with training or educational experience. Must possess adaptable approaches and possess the qualities to engage adult learners. The ability to communicate well in professional settings is required. Excellent writing skills is a must. This person must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to include day and evening hours on occasions.

Position Description
Under the supervision of the Dean of Career and Technical Education this person will be responsible for the coordination, processing, verification, and record keeping for work-based learning and apprenticeships within career and technical and healthcare education programs. This position will serve as the liaison for faculty to ensure that students enrolled in apprenticeships and work-based learning are accomplishing related objectives for program goals. In addition, this position will be responsible for recruiting students, increasing applications, enrollment and persistence in targeted training and WBL opportunities; direct coordination with faculty to create and expand WBL and enhance training opportunities; and serve as liaison to the WORC Case Manager to ensure students receive individualized support services.
- In conjunction with faculty, assist in development of curriculum objectives for work-based learning program courses.
- Recruit students for work-based learning
- Provide orientation for all WBL-enrolled students.
- Serve as the coordinator of the College’s Apprenticeship programs including youth apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships.
- Maintain contact with all member companies to ensure the program standards are met and any new apprentice hiring needs are being addressed.
- Assist Continuing Education and Academic Affairs with activities and events related to careers and employment.
- Work with industry partners to increase work-based learning and apprenticeship offerings.
- Work with industry partners to enhance the work-based learning and apprenticeship program.
- Complete work-based learning job visitations as required by MTCC policy and NC Community College System Standards.
- Maintain student files, in compliance with WBL (Section 20) Curriculum Procedures Reference Manual and 1D SBCCC 300.10.
- Advise students participating in work-based learning and/or apprenticeships.
- Attend professional meetings, conferences, and workshops to maintain professional knowledge and skills and to create collaboration efforts through networking.
- Serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as assigned and other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
