Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Business, Office Systems Administration, or a related field.  Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a multifaceted workplace.  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.  Competent in Microsoft Office with solid computer skills.  Pearson Vue Proctor certification or willingness to become certified upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience within the NC Community College System or higher education setting.  Previous experience with payroll and/or WCE course building

Position Description

Primary Purpose

Responsible for initiating, coordinating, and performing the clerical, course building, and payroll functions of the Workforce and Continuing Education Department in a manner that supports high quality service to students, the department, and the campus community.

 

Essential Functions

Course Building and Payroll Duties

  • Assist WCE Coordinators with the onboarding of part-time faculty
  • Maintain an accurate and efficient contract and timecard system for part-time faculty, vendors, Dean, and VP Office
  • Maintain an accurate payroll reporting spreadsheet monthly
  • Work with Human Resources and Business Office to resolve contract or payroll issues as needed
  • Build departmental courses within our electronic data systems ensuring accuracy and compliance with State regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records and departmental information

 

Clerical/Administrative Duties

  • Support the Dean, Compliance and Program Coordinators to maintain high quality course and payroll services to the department and community
  • Provide comprehensive data entry using Excel to maintain course and departmental files
  • Assist with the maintaining of accurate records for the department and generating End-of-Semester Reports
  • Assist students with course information in-person, by phone, e-mails and direct to classrooms as needed
  • Provide clerical support and general office administration tasks to department as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure a Student-Centered Environment within the Learning Support Services and Testing Center while supporting the Director and tutors.
  • Work collaboratively to solve interdepartmental issues.
  • Perform additional duties as needed that may not be specified in this job description when requested by the Dean.
  • May drive college-owned vehicles
