A minimum of two years of experience in the field of study related to the course with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word and Excel is required. The instructor must be familiar with reading spreadsheets and have experience accessing the internet for data entry into a browser based Management Information System. Excellent oral and written communicaiton skills and proficiency in maintaining records and files including database entry are required. The instructor must be able to work unsupervised with proven leadership ability, have supervisory expericense and be committed to teamwork. Candidates must be capable of working flexible schedules including some nights and weekends.
It is preferred the instructor have experience working with a justice-involved population, hold a National Career Readiness Certification, and be bilingual.
Duties include desigining and implementing learning strategies for students, developing course syllabi and instructional material, as well as maintaining accurate class attendance records. The Instructor will complile student registration/fee waiver information and submit reports and administrative paperwork in a timely manner. The duties also include evaluating student performance and organizing and maintaining the class area, including physical facilities, equipment, inventory and materials in a clean, neat operating condition. The instructor will perform duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Wayne Community College.
