OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The WFD Coordinator II - Havelock Campus oversees delivery of non-credit continuing education programs and efforts to provide customized job training for Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), MCAS Cherry Point and local business and industry. This position assesses needs, plans, and markets course offerings, develops, and evaluates curriculums and recruits and evaluates instructors. Additionally, this position provides workforce training to the public in numerous areas.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides excellent customer service and assistance to internal and external customers through walk-in, telephone, and email
- Assesses and develops programs and efforts to provide customized job training for Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), MCAS Cherry Point, local business and industry, and other workforce development courses as assigned
- Plans, coordinates, and oversees the administration of operations, course outline preparation, room reservations, contract preparation, registration, fee collection, orientation, instruction, grading, and evaluation of courses
- Leads the selection, orientation, training, mentoring, support, and supervision of assigned employees
- Recruits, interviews, orients, and manages adjuncts/contractors/vendors for the program area; monitors and evaluates instructor performance; ensures adjuncts/contractors/vendors follow required payment procedures
- Makes required class visits as outlined in the policy for Accountability and Credibility for continuing education
- Monitors compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, accreditation standards and audits/reviews
- Ensures all class documentation processed through the Havelock Campus meets compliance requirements
- Coordinates the ordering of books, materials, supplies and facilities for courses in program area
- Ensures courses are posted on the College’s website and other appropriate websites
- Collaborates with agencies that oversee regulated or controlled courses such as NCCER, FAA, OSHA and other certifying agencies
- Promotes community awareness of program opportunities
- Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values, and goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Adult learning theory, concepts and teaching methodologies
- Curriculum design and development
- Knowledge of college programs, services and procedures relating to assigned areas
- Methods and techniques of program marketing and publicity
- Working knowledge of records management and control
- Federal, state and college requirements regarding FERPA and other applicable laws and regulations
Skills
- Proficiency in planning, organization, communication, training, supervisory and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in technological systems as they apply to instruction and administrative needs, including Microsoft Office
- Competency in monitoring/assessing the performance of self, other individuals and programs to make improvements or take corrective action
